The mountain town of Telluride began when gold was discovered here in 1858. Many of Telluride’s historic buildings have been converted into boutiques, restaurants, bars, and art galleries, including the historic building named the Muhr Building, which once housed the San Miguel Valley Bank, famed for being the first banked robbed by Butch Cassidy. Today, Telluride is home to a popular ski and golf resort that attracts droves of travelers every season.
