Punch Cigars is ready to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a new release, Punch Chop Suey. This cigar is a follow-up to the successful Punch Egg Roll cigar that was released in 2019 and like that cigar, it’s limited edition, meaning you need to get it before it’s gone.
“We had a lot of fun with Punch Egg Roll last year, so we decided to come out with a similar release for 2020,” said Ed Lahmann, senior brand manager of Punch and the mastermind behind Chop Suey. “With its panatela size, this cigar delivers a great smoking experience in a format that really lets the tobaccos shine through. And with an SRP of less than $6 per cigar, Chop Suey hits that post-holiday sweet spot for cigar lovers.”
Punch Chop Suey is rolled at General Cigar Dominicana, located in Santiago, Dominican Republic. This cigar has an Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and finishes with Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. It comes in a single vitola–a Panatela measuring 7 x 37–with a 1 inch shaggy foot. Punch Chop Suey will be packaged in a Chinese food takeout-inspired bundle box that contains 25 cigars. Inside of the bands of these cigars will be a fortune by Mr. Punch himself. There will be four fortunes in total and according to Lahmann, you can expect a couple friendly jabs as well as inspirations from the snarky Punch mascot.
Chop Suey will be sold at brick and mortar stores and will ship in mid-February. There will only be 3,650 bundles released. Each cigar will sell for approximately $5.49 before taxes. Punch Cigars is a brand of General Cigar Co.
