Protocol Cigars has announced the release of the Protocol Cyber Crimes Unit, the first new addition to the Protocol Core line since the 2018 release of Protocol Official Misconduct.
The cigar continues with the company’s law enforcement theme, this time honoring those that protect the world from cyber criminals. Cyber crimes unit investigation squads conduct and assist in investigations where computers, networks, telecommunication devices and other technological instruments are the vehicle or target for the commission of criminal acts against network resources critical to the function of corporate or government entities. Protocol Cyber Crimes Unity pays homage to Protocol co-owner Kevin Keithan and his day job.
Protocol’s Juan Cancel commented: “Kevin is a great addition to Protocol Cigars. Ever since Kevin has stepped out of the shadows and into the spotlight, we wanted to do a special Protocol Cigar line in his honor. I can’t think of anything more fitting than the Protocol Cyber Crimes Unit.”
Protocol Cyber Crimes Unit will be manufactured at Erik Espinonsa’s La Zone Cigar Factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. As the fifth Protocol Core Line release, this cigar will be presented as a boxed-pressed short Churchill measuring 6 1/2 x 48 and will come in 10-count boxes priced at $105 per box, or $10.50 per cigar. Protocol Cyber Crimes Unit features a Nicaraguan Rosado Habano wrapper and a Nicaraguan binder and filler.
Keithan added: “This is a great size. We released the Protocol Probable Cause in this size and it was absolutely phenomenal! We wanted to revisit this extraordinary vitola on a very special release which I hold dear to my heart. The blend will be a Nicaraguan puro with a Rosado Habano wrapper. It will be creamy and smooth yet a good punch in the mouth. This will make a great addition to the Protocol Core Line. We are excited to present this to market. We hope our supporters enjoy them as much as we do. The Protocol Cyber Crimes Unit fits perfectly with the look and feel of the Protocol Core Line. But ultimately it is the flavors that fit perfectly in the core line portfolio.”
