Plasencia Cigars has a new cigar that will be released exclusively to the international market. The limited edition Year of the Ox cigar commemorates the Chinese New Year and is set to hit the international cigar market on Feb. 12, 2021.
In the Chinese culture, Oxen are revered for the role they play in agriculture. Oxen are recognized for their hardworking, honest and humble disposition. The Plasencia family felt it important to recognize the hard-working agriculturists and farmers, who like the Ox are never the center of attention but continue to be the backbone of the cigar industry. Growing tobacco since 1865, the Plasencia family felt that creating the Year of the Ox cigar would perfectly align with their traditions and passion for tobacco.

Plasencia’s master blending team worked hard to create this cigar, using leaf from the Plasnecia family’s vast library of tobacco. This Nicaraguan puro, which comes in an elegant 7 x 58 Salomon vitola. It is a medium strength, full-flavored cigar with notes of cashews, red berries, and finishes with notes of milk chocolate and hints of peppermint.
Only 20,000 Year of the Ox cigars have been made by Plasencia. Year of the Ox will be available in 8-count boxes. Each box will be sold for $280, or $35 per cigar.
