It comes as little surprise that the Dove Tale Rum from John Drew Brands has won numerous awards, including the #1 Gold Dark Rum in Cigar & Spirits World Spirits Competition in 2017. This is some dang good rum. It’s 100% Florida rum, made from Florida sugarcane black strap molasses. It is then aged and matured in bourbon barrels. The result is a smooth, delicious rum that carries notes of caramel, nougat, and vanilla.

“From the deepest place in my heart and soul, I love making people happy, watching good people come together to share life’s precious moments,” Jonathan Drew, president of Drew Estate says.  “Our story of Dove Tail Rum began in a distant land called Nicaragua, where I cut my teeth for 19 years and lived inside my little handmade cigar factory high up in the northern mountains. Although we started with almost nothing, hard work and commitment paid off and Drew Estate eventually became one of the most trusted boutique factories in the world.”

“Dove Tail Rum is emblematic of those early days of our journey,” Drew continues. “Sweet and vibrant, yet dark & mysterious … a true Florida Rum.”

Trying out the Cinco

Joya de Nicaragua Cinco Decades. This cigar, that pays tribute to Joya’s 50th anniversary, is one of the best we tried at this year’s IPCPR. It is limited to 5,000 boxes for 2018 and is a perfect pair for this special rum.
