Some of your favorite athletes are teaming up to bring you a top-shelf bourbon that will be limited in its release and is sure to have whiskey aficionados clamoring to get their hands on a bottle when its release.
Sweetens Cove Tennessee Bourbon is a brand backed by Peyton and Eli Manning, Andy Roddick and well-known broadcaster Jim Nantz and other investors who’ve all pitched in some (well, a lot of) change to create a 13-year cask-aged Tennessee bourbon brand. The brand is named after the famed Sweetens Cove Golf Course located in Pittsburg, Tennessee, which Peyton Manning is a part owner of. It’s a tradition on this nine-hole course that first-time players must take a shot of whiskey before teeing off.
Sweetens Cove will initially be exclusively available to residents of Tennessee who will be the first to buy a $200 bottle of this bourbon. Sweetens Cove Tennessee Bourbon will begin appearing in Nashville and other cities in the state, with a portion of the proceeds going toward various charitable efforts, including those designed to help those impacted by tornadoes in the state and COVID-19. There are already plans to expand the brand’s availability to Georgia and eventually nationwide.

Sweetens Cove Tennessee Bourbon was blended by master blender Marianne Eaves, Kentucky’s first female bourbon master distiller since the Prohibition era. Here’s how she described this release:
“This bourbon is really exquisite. We hope it will become a product that bourbon aficionados and the best bars will want. There aren’t many bottles altogether and each batch within the first release is distinctive. The batch isn’t going to be specifically marked, so you will have to be ‘in the know’ to locate them with subtle identifiers.”
Sweetens Cove Tennessee Bourbon is 102 proof and will retail for $200 a bottle. This will be a limited release, with only 14,000 bottles released worldwide. The pre-sale for Tennessee residents will kickoff on May 26, 2020.
