Five years ago, Foundation Cigar Company made its debut with El Güegüense, a 100 percent Nicaraguan puro that celebrates Nicaragua’s land, people, and traditions. The name, which translates to “The Wise Man,” takes its name from the cunning protagonist of the country’s annual Festival of San Sebastián.
In recognition of Foundation’s 5-year anniversary, Nicholas Melillo has blended and designed a limited edition 4 3/4 x 60 Perfecto that will be presented in a one-of-a-kind collector’s chest. The 20-count box, resembling the one held by The Wise Man during the festival’s Great Dance, represents the hard-work, ingenuity and deep cultural wealth of the Nicaraguan people. The special blend features a Corojo 99 wrapper, a blend of high-quality fillers from Jalapa and Estelí, and a specially selected Mexican San Andres binder.
The Güegüense 5 Year Aniversario Collector’s Chest will be available through select Foundation Cigar retail partners in the U.S. by late September. Each chest will have a suggested retail price of $300.
