Diesel is teaming up with AJ Fernandez for a new release, Diesel Estelí Puro, that will make its debut next month. This will be a full-time addition to the Diesel lineup and is being positioned to become a core product in the Diesel portfolio.
Diesel Estelí Puro harnesses the strength and complexity of Estelí’s renowned tobacco which is grown in Nicaragua’s dark, dense soils. Each of the tobaccos used in the blend for Diesel Estelí Puro were hand-selected from AJ Fernandez’s farms to meet specific requirements defined by the Diesel team. The wrapper was harvested from La Lilia, the binder from San José and the fillers from several plots including AJ’s San Lotano farm.
“Estelí Puro represents the future of Diesel in that the story of the blend is told by the tobacco itself,” says Justin Andrews, Diesel’s brand manager. “With Estelí Puro, we made a collection that is completely unique in its bold flavor profile, yet has many of the attributes that have made the other Diesel expressions a cigar of choice among dyed-in-the-wool smokers. This is a cigar that demands the smoker’s full attention with deep and balanced flavor, a strong presentation and an attractive price point.”
Diesel Estelí Puro will be available in three sizes, including Robusto (5 1/4 x 54), Toro (6 x 54), and Gigante (6 x 60). This cigar will be sold in 20-count boxes and will begin shipping in September 2020. Price per cigar will range from $8.99 to $9.99 before applicable taxes.
