Last year we attended the annual Beer, Bourbon & BBQ festival in Cary, North Carolina and drank ourselves so silly that we barely got any photos. This festival tours all over the East Coast and, along with the Cary date this weekend, are also making two more stops in Virginia Beach and Leesburg, Virginia. There were 13 stops this year and they add more every year so make sure you don’t miss it next year.
What you can expect is endlessly flowing beer and bourbon. For one small price you get a tasting glass and you can try as many samples as you want (responsibly of course). This is such an excellent way to branch out of your normal beers and liquors and expand your horizons. There is also live music, delicious BBQ, and fun contests on stage. Last year they had volunteers see how many beers they could drink using a straw. I didn’t participate because I was fairly certain the beer gods would smote me on the spot for drinking beer with a straw. Oh, and there were some local cigar shops in attendance so you can smoke cigars while sipping your bourbons.
This is an enormously fun event and I’ve been looking forward to it all year. Hope to see you out there!
