The International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) convention in Las Vegas is always a favorite time of the year for us—not only because we get to meet and speak with some of the biggest names in the industry—but we also get to sample some of the newest releases. Here are four cigars being released this summer that we can’t wait to sample, and we’re fairly certain you can’t either.
Falto LJF “Reserva del Fundador”
Wrapper: Dominican Habana ’92
Binder: Sumatra Ecuador
Filler: Dominican Republic and Nicaragua
Size: Box-pressed 5 1/2 x 52
What to expect: This cigar, whose name translates to “Founder’s Reserve,” features a magnificent blend of Dominican-grown Habana ’92 wrappers, Sumatra Ecuador binder and filler of rare tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The smoking dynamic of this complex and dynamic cigar is extremely interesting. It begins medium-flavored and develops into a full-flavored experience, with touches of dark chocolate, espresso and spices throughout the smoking process.
Cornelius & Anthony Cigars’ Mistress
Sizes: Gordo (6 x 60), Toro (6 x 50), Corona Gorda (5 1/2 x 46), Robusto 5 x 52
What to expect: This multifaceted cigar is dense with bold flavor, and its intoxicating blend will ignite your senses. Robust filler tobaccos from Pennsylvania provide a hearty spice that will arouse your palate. Sweetness from the U.S.-grown binder along with an alluring Ecuadorean Habano wrapper unify this spice, creating a cigar with depth, balance, character, and vivid flavors from start to finish.
Cornelius & Anthony Cigars’ The Gent
Filler: Nicaragua and Honduras
Sizes: Gordo (6 x 60), Toro (6 x 50), Corona Gorda (5 1/2 x 46), Robusto (5 x 52)
What to expect: The Gent is a cigar that takes sophistication to the next level. From the feel of the velvety Ecuadorean rosado wrapper in your hand, to a finish that is silky smooth, The Gent exudes an elegance of flavor that is unforgettable. Gentle spice from richly aged Nicaraguan and Honduran filler tobaccos warm the senses. Together with a hint of sweetness from the U.S.-grown binder, The Gent has a beautiful depth of flavor. This box-pressed cigar features a legendary refinement that draws you in, from the first puff to the very last.
K by Karen Berger Connecticut
Wrapper: Connecticut Ecuador
Sizes: Salomon (5 x 52), Toro (6 x 52), Robusto (5 x 52)
What to expect: This box-pressed cigar is the third cigar in the ridiculously delicious K by Karen Berger series, which includes a Habano and maduro, all of which are true Esteli, Nicaraguan, puros. We’re excited for this one because of how rich, creamy, nutty, and even a little bit spicy the Habano is, so our expectations are ready to be met and exceeded.
